iHeartMedia has announced it will break the simulcast of Sports “The Big 1070” WTSO/100.9 W265CV Madison WI this weekend and launch two new brands.
WTSO will remain Sports, but relaunch as “1070 The Game” to match the branding of sister Sports “97.3 The Game” WRNW-FM Milwaukee on Monday, February 3. With the rebranding WTSO will add WRNW-FM’s Steve Czaben Show for mornings from 6-9am, Fox Sports Radio’s Dan Patrick and Colin Cowherd in middays, while the statewide syndicated Mike Heller Show based at WTSO will move to afternoons from 3-6pm.
Meanwhile 100.9 W265CV and 101.5 WIBA-HD2 will debut Oldies “U100.9“. Positioned as “Madison’s Super 60s and 70s Station”, the new format will launch on Saturday, February 1. The new format will flank iHeartMedia’s Variety Hits “Rewind 92.1” WXXM against Entercom’s market leading Classic Hits 94.9 WOLX.
iHeartMedia Madison announced today the debut of the new U-100.9, Madison’s Super ‘60s and ‘70s Station, beginning February 1.
U-100.9 will broadcast popular music from the 1960s and ‘70s including top songs from artists such as The Beatles, The Supremes, The Rolling Stones, Three Dog Night, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin and more. The station will also feature fun and different musical themes each weekend including one hit wonders for its “Super 60s and 70s Weekend” segment.
“I’m extremely excited to be part of this new station launch,” said Drew Lauter, Market President for iHeartMedia Madison. “Madison missed having a station that is dedicated to airing top ‘60s and ‘70s music – so we’re excited to step up and give listeners what they want with the new U-100.9.”
