iHeartMedia has announced the promotion of Josh Wolff to Vice President of Programming for their Harrisburg and Lancaster PA markets.
Wolff will also continue to program Rock 95.1 WZZO Bethlehem and CHR “B104” WAEB-FM Allentown, which he has programmed since July 2019. Wolff will report to Dave Hovel, Area Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Pennsylvania, and Nick Mickley, Market President for iHeartMedia Harrisburg, Lancaster and Reading.
Prior to moving to Allentown last summer, Wolff served as APD and Marketing Director for the company’s Variety Hits “95.5 The Mountain” KYOT and AC “99.9 KEZ” KESZ Phoenix since 2015. He has also served as SVP/Programming for iHeartMedia Salisbury MD and APD/Digital PD of Hot AC “Alice 95.5” KTOZ and AC 105.9 KGBX Springfield MO.
Wolff takes the VP/Programming reins for Harrisburg/Lancaster that had been held by Jeff Hurley until he was promoted to the company’s national programming group in January.
The stations now under his purview are Country “Bob 94.9” WRBT, Classic Rock “97.3 The River” WRVV, Alternative “Alt 99.3” WHKF, News/Talk 580 WHP, and “Fox Sports 1460” WTKT in Harrisburg plus CHR “FM 97” WLAN-FM and Spanish CHR “Rumba 100.5” 1390 WLAN in Lancaster.
iHeartMedia announced today that Josh Wolff has been named Vice President of Programming for the Harrisburg/Lancaster markets, effective immediately. iHeartMedia Harrisburg and Lancaster have a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands and franchises — both broadcast and digital — encompassing more than eight stations comprised of music, talk and news formats.
iHeartMedia has the leading consumer reach and influence across multiple platforms and delivers more live programming than any other media company. As Vice President of Programming, Wolff will oversee all on-air content as well as music and digital programming operations for all of the Harrisburg/Lancaster brands. He will also remain the program director for B104 and 951 ZZO in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Wolff will report to Dave Hovel, Area Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Pennsylvania, and Nick Mickley, Market President for iHeartMedia Harrisburg, Lancaster and Reading.
“With Josh’s strong leadership skills in Allentown, it was a no-brainer to elevate him to oversee iHeartMedia Harrisburg and Lancaster,” said Hovel. “The entire Harrisburg/Lancaster team is excited to have Josh in the role to lead and grow our iHeart footprint in the markets.”
“I couldn’t be more excited to have Josh as part of our team,” said Mickley. “He has proven himself in prior roles and offers a new exciting perspective to our brands and sales integration strategies.”
Wolff joins the Harrisburg/Lancaster markets from iHeartMedia Allentown, where he will retain his Program Director duties for B104 and 951 ZZO. Before joining the Pennsylvania region, he served as the music director and assistant program director for 99.9 KEZ and 95.5 The Mountain for iHeartMedia Phoenix. Wolff also served as the senior vice president of programming for iHeartMedia Salisbury-Ocean City, assistant program director for 105.9 KGBX and Alice 95.5 as well as digital program director for iHeartMedia Springfield. Throughout his career, he has also held various programming roles throughout the country, including positions held in Atlanta; Greenville, South Carolina; Pittsburgh; and Binghamton, New York. He is a Syracuse University graduate.
“We are so fortunate at iHeartMedia to have strong leaders who have been wonderful mentors to myself and others,” said Wolff. “I’m honored to pass along the wisdom they’ve shared with me to our incredible teams in Harrisburg and Lancaster.”
