As it completes the consolidation of the clusters it purchased from Community Broadcasters in January 2019 and Equinox Broadcasting in December 2019, Seven Mountains Media has completely revamped its holdings in the Elmira NY market.
The primary change will see Country “100.9 The Wolf” WPGI Horseheads replaced by Seven Mountains Media’s flagship “Bigfoot Country” brand as a trimulcast heard on 94.7 WQBF Tioga PA, 96.1 WCBF Elmira, and 97.1 WOBF Canaseraga/Hornell. Bigfoot will also be heard on 95.1 W236AK Corning NY replacing WMTT.
Classic Rock “95 The Met” 94.7 WMTT becomes “101 The Met” on 820 WMTT/101.3 W267CJ Horseheads and 100.9 WMTT-FM Horseheads. The Met will continue to also be heard on translators 93.1 W226AP Hornell, 95.7 W239BK Bath NY, and 97.9 W250BI Mansfield PA. 820/101.3 had been Conservative Talk until beginning to simulcast WMTT in January.
Classic Hits “Cool 96.1/97.1” WPHD Elmira/WZHD Canaseraga becomes “Cool 104.9” WPHD Montour Falls. Cool will also replace Rhythmic CHR “Hot 103.3” on W277DW Elmira, while continuing on 95.1 W236CP Hornell and 107.9 W300DH Corning.
Rock “Wingz 104.9” WNGZ Montour Falls becomes “Wingz 93” on 1490 WNGZ Watkins Glen (formerly Classic Country WRCE), 93.1 W226BA Elmira, and 93.5 W228DN Corning. 93.1 had been Alternative “93.1 The Drive” until beginning to simulcast WNGZ in January, W228DN had been in Elmira rebroadcasting WMTT.
While not launching today, Classic Hip Hop “Jamz 101.7” will debut on 101.7 W269BK Horseheads/WCBF-HD3. That translator had been rebroadcasting WMTT and has applied to relocate to Elmira.
Only CHR “Wink 106” WNKI will remain unchanged, although it will also become available on a few additional translators as 95.7 W239BQ Elmira NY and 107.9 W300BX Wellsboro PA switch from WMTT.
