Lee Family Broadcasting has dropped two of its three Spanish language stations in Twin Falls ID.
Regional Mexican Oldies “970 La Patrona” KXTA Rupert and new translator sign-on 100.5 K263BX Rupert and Bilingual Rhythmic “LatinX 97.5” K248BZ Kimberly/Twin Falls have flipped to Classic Rock/Hits “Balanced Rock 97.5/100.5“. Named for the landmark as well as its positioning, the new format positions itself between Townsquare Media’s Classic Hits “Kool 96.5” KLIX and Classic Rock “98.3 The Snake” KSNQ, while creating a flanker to Lee’s Rock “103.1 The Edge” KEDJ.
Positioning as “Magic Valley’s Monumental Rock,” the station is listing core artists as including Rolling Stones, Elton John, AC/DC, The Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Journey, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Hall & Oates, Aerosmith, U2, Queen and Depeche Mode. Tom Nelson, former Operations Manager for Iliad Media’s cluster, is hosting mornings from 6-10am.
The launch follows a weekend of stunting as “97.5/100.5 The Pandemic” running a loop of political clips related to the pandemic and The Police’s “Don’t Stand So Close To Me”.
The “LatinX 97.5” format will continue online and claims it will return in a few weeks on a stronger signal.
