Entercom is selling its two AMs in Greensboro NC to Stuart and Nancy Epperson’s Truth Broadcasting Corporation.
Truth will acquire Southern Gospel 950 WPET and Gospel 1510 WEAL Greensboro for $400,000 with an LMA to take effect on September 28. Truth owns three other AMs in the Greensboro market: Gospel “The Light” 1340 WPOL Winston-Salem/1400 WKEW Greensboro and Christian Preaching “The Truth” 830 WTRU Kernersville. Stuart Epperson also holds a 20% stake in Classic Country 98.1 WBRF Galax VA which is part of the Greensboro market.
Entercom retains its three FMs in the Greensboro/Winston-Salem market.
Chris DiPaola’s DiPonti Communications will purchase 1450 WPVD/105.5 W288EE West Warwick RI from Hall Communications for $110,000. DiPonti will begin operating WPVD via Time Brokerage Agreement on the later date of September 21 or when the translator begins operations from its just applied for modified operational site. The company also owns Variety 1230 WBLQ/103.1 W276DF Westerly. WPVD currently simulcasts “Cat Country 98.1” WCTK New Bedford MA.
Riverfront Broadcasting sells Country “Hot Country 94.3” KDOM-FM and Full Service Classic Country 1580 KDOM/103.1 K276GM Windom MN to Charles Steven White and Laura White’s Next Step Broadcasting for $716,171. The couple both work at the station with Steve White serving as Market Manager and Laura White as a sales rep.
Times Communications sells Regional Mexican “La Raza” 1580 WHLY South Bend IN to IB Communications for $101,750. The buyer has operated WHLY via Time Brokerage Agreement since May 2013 and simulcasts their 1460 WKAM/98.1 W251AR Goshen.
Monterey County Broadcasters sells Christian Preaching 880 KKMC Gonzales/Salinas CA to El Sembrador Ministries for $335,000. KKMC will become El Sembrador’s third station in the Monterey/Salinas market along with 540 KRXA Carmel Valley and 700 KMBX Soledad. Both already carry the group’s Spanish Catholic “ESNE Radio” programming.
Salt of the Earth Broadcasting sells Gospel 1430 KEES Gladewater and the CP for 96.5 K243CU Longview TX to La Promesa Foundation for $125,000. KEES will be converted to non-commercial to join the Catholic “Guadalupe Radio Network“.
Kevin Cox is buying out 45% shareholder Clint Webster and 10% shareholder Greg Shurden to gain total control of Radio Cleveland Inc. and their four stations. Cox will pay Webster $65,000 and Shuden $5,000 for full control of Gospel 1490 WCLD Cleveland MS, Conservative Talk 96.5 WKDJ-FM Clarksdale, Hip Hop “Jammin 104” 103.9 WCLD-FM Cleveland and Country “Majic 107.5” WMJW Rosedale. A similar filing was made in June for their 106.5 WAID Clarksdale.
Real Life Radio Foundation sells Christian AC “The Vine” 90.9 WVYN Bluford/105.5 W288CO Centralia IL to Pure Word Radio for $185,010. The buyer has operated the station via Time Brokerage Agreement since February 2018.
Mansfield Christian School sells Christian AC 90.7 WVMC-FM Mansfield OH and simulcasters 91.1 W216AH Ashland and 102.7 W274AN Jefferson/Wooster to Soaring Eagle Promotions for $190,000. Soaring Eagle owns competing Christian AC “Shine-FM” 88.5 WKEN Kenton/88.9 WSOH Zanesfield OH.
Translator Sales
Glen Iris Baptist School divests 92.7 W224CN Leeds AL to Avondale Metal Works LLC for $10,000. The buyer lists the seller’s 91.9 WGIB Birmingham as the station it will rebroadcast but states it will be seeking a new primary station and take the translator silent at closing should they not find one.
Turbo Technical Services buys 92.9 K225AZ Alamosa and 106.7 K294BO Monte Vista CO from Proclaiming Christ’s Love Ministries for $16,000. Both translators rebroadcast Adams State College’s “Grizz Radio” 90.9 KASF Alamosa but will switch originator to Philips Broadcasting’s 92.5 KCRT-FM Trinidad CO.
