After completing its stunting period as “Christmas 107.9” this morning, Cumulus Media debuted “107.9 Country” on WOGT East Ridge/Chattanooga at 6am.
Promoting itself as “Playing The Most New Country”, the new format is targeting Entercom’s market leading “US 101” 100.7 WUSY. The station will feature Cumulus’ syndicated “Morning Koffy” in the wakeup slot. Cluster Operations Manager Scott Chase will host middays in addition to his existing role in afternoons on sister Classic Rock “KZ 106” WSKZ. Dodger remains in afternoons from the stations previous “107.9 Nash Icon” incarnation. Westwood One’s “Nights with Elaina” and “Later with Lia” round out the station’s new lineup.
WOGT’s former 90s based “Nash Icon” format held a 1.6 share in the November 2020 Nielsen Audio ratings. WUSY led Chattanooga with an 11.1 share.
