Kristen Delaney will retire as Albany NY Area President for iHeartMedia at the end of 2021.
Delaney oversaw all operations in the company’s Albany, Poughkeepsie NY and Sussex County NJ stations since 2011. She began her career in 1989 as an Account Executive in Utica NY before rising in that market to Local Sales Manager in 1996. She moved to Albany as General Sales Manager in 1999 and was promoted to Director of Sales in 2000 and General Manager in 2006 before taking on her now current role in 2011.
iHeartMedia Albany announced today the retirement of media veteran Kristen Delaney, Area President for iHeartMedia Albany. As Area President for over a decade, Delaney has contributed to the success of the Albany Area stations, overseeing the Albany, Poughkeepsie and Sussex, New Jersey markets. Her last day will be December 31, 2021.
Delaney began her broadcasting career in 1989 as an Account Executive in Utica, New York and worked in radio sales until 1996 when she was promoted to Local Sales Manager. In 1999, she moved to Albany to join Clear Channel Radio (now iHeartMedia) as General Sales Manager and was elevated to Director of Sales in 2000, and Market Manager in 2006. Since 2011, Delaney has served as President for iHeartMedia in Albany and Poughkeepsie, New York as well as Sussex, New Jersey. In addition, Delaney serves on the board of the New York State Broadcasters Association and the Capital District Radio Association. Throughout her time at iHeartMedia, Delaney, along with her teams, helped raise millions of dollars for the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center and WGY’s Christmas Wish.
