NRG Media Sports “1620 The Zone” KOZN Bellevue/Omaha NE has debuted a new morning show as Nick Handley returns to the station to co-host mornings with Gary Sharp and producer Jimmy Chavez.

“Mornings with Sharp & Handley” debuted on Monday, December 12 in the 6-10am timeslot. Handley spent the past nine years at SummitMedia’s “ESPN 590” KXSP most recently in afternoons where he also served as play-by-play voice for University of Nebraska Baseball. He began his career at KOZN and also has hosted at KLMS Lincoln.

Handley takes the morning co-host position at KOZN that was vacated by Damon Benning in September after fourteen years at the station. He and Sharp hosted mornings from 2012 to 2019 before being reunited in the daypart in January.

NRG MEDIA welcomes Nick Handley back to 1620 The Zone (KOZN-AM). Nick joins current morning host Gary Sharp, along with producer Jimmy Chavez, for “Mornings with Sharp & Handley” from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday. The new show launched on Monday, December 12th, 2022.

Handley returns to 1620 The Zone after spending the last 9 years as a sports talk show host on AM590 ESPN Omaha. During that time, he also served as a play-by-play announcer for University of Nebraska Baseball on the Huskers Radio Network.

Handley remarked “I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the 1620 the Zone team and come back to the place where I got my start in radio. Gary Sharp is one of the best in this business.”
