Following the announcement of their partnership in May to launch multiple ad-supported streams “curated and conceived” by Garth Brooks, TuneIn and Brooks’ “SEVENS Radio Network” have debuted their first channel at “The Big 615“.
In a press conference announcing the launch, Brooks stated that he wants the station to be artist friendly and not beholden to record labels. He emphasized that he wants the station to be the global voice of Country music. The station will lead traditional with Brooks mentioning artists such as George Strait, Randy Travis, Kenny Chesney, but will also be very female artist focused. Brooks also mentioned that he desires for one of his upcoming channels to be all-female artists and female empowerment “BABES” with the acronym standing for “Bad Ass Bitches of Entertainment”.
Former SiriusXM “The Highway” morning host Storme Warren will be the “voice of The Big 615”. The station will also feature other guest hosts including Brooks and other industry stars.
Former Emmis Indianapolis Operations Manager, VP/Programming, and Market President Bob Richards will serve as Program Director. Richards has also programmed Country 95.5 WFMS Indianapolis for Susquehanna and Cumulus. Monta Vaden will be Music Director. Vaden most recently served as Senior Radio Editor for Country Aircheck and has worked at WCYQ Knoxville. Former “Flow 93.5” CFXJ Toronto morning host Blake Carter will serve as the imaging voice. She had also been the voice of SiriusXM’s “The Garth Channel”.
