Hope Media Group is acquiring Brokered Caribbean 93.5 WVIP New Rochelle NY from the estate of William O’Shaughnessy’s Hudson-Westchester Radio for $8.15 million.

The move marks Hope Media Group’s, the owners of the Christian AC “Way FM” network and 89.3 KSBJ Houston and Spanish Christian “Vida Unida” network, entry into the New York City market. WVIP operates with 1.75kW/132m from near the Bronx/Westchester County border targeting the northern half of the market. Hope has confirmed that WVIP will join their “Vida Unida” network upon closing.

Hope Media Group (HMG) has announced intent to purchase 93.5 WVIP to serve as its New York City outlet for “Vida Unida,” the Christian media corporation’s Spanish-language music network. The name Vida Unida—or “Life Together”—is about being united with God, families, and the community. The WVIP-FM signal originates from the Bronx and covers more than 13 million residents in the five boroughs and New Jersey, 3.8 million of which are Hispanic.
