Desert Valley Media Group Rhythmic Hot AC “Hot 97.5/103.9” KMVA Dewey-Humboldt/Phoenix and KZON Gilbert AZ will launch “The Gello Show” in mornings on Monday, July 10.
Host Deongello ‘Gello’ Vanorsby moves to the morning slot from afternoons at sister Hip Hop “Power 98.3/96.1” KKFR Mayer/K241BQ Fort McDowell. He first worked at KKFR from 2010 to 2015 with time in nights, afternoons and mornings. After a year in mornings at Sierra H Broadcasting’s “101.1 The Beat” KNRJ, he moved to Classic Hip Hop “105.1 The Bounce” WMGC Detroit at its launch in December 2016 first in afternoons and then mornings until March 2021. After beginning to track middays at KKFR in July 2020, he would return to the station as cluster Social Media Director and afternoon host.
With Gello’s move to mornings at KMVA/KZON, KKFR Program Director Jonathan ‘J. Steele’ will take over the afternoon slot at the station. Steele joined KKFR as Program Director in March.

Desert Valley Media Group’s leading Rhythmic CHR station, POWER 98.3 & 96.1 (KKFR-FM), is excited to announce the addition of Jonathan Steele, known as J. Steele, to its afternoon show lineup. Effective Monday, July 10th Steele will be taking over as the host of the Afternoon Show on Power 98.3 & 96.1 from Monday to Friday, 3pm- 7pm.
Steele brings a wealth of experience to the role, having most recently served as Program Director for American General Media’s cluster in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Prior to that, he held various management positions as well as on-air duties at Beasley Media Group in Detroit. Steele’s talent and expertise also shone through during his time at Martz Communications in Pittsburgh, where he served as the Program Director for the heritage station, WAMO.
As KKFR’s Brand Manager, Steele oversees the station’s programming strategy, ensuring a vibrant and engaging on-air experience for listeners. His proven track record in the radio industry, combined with his passion for music and connecting with audiences, makes him an ideal fit for Power 98.3 & 96.1.
