Don Tlapek is selling Blizzard Broadcasting with its seven stations and five translators centered in northwestern Colorado to Jonathan Ingram’s JWI Hodlings and Birchwood Communications for $2 million.
Included in the deal are a Steamboat Springs cluster of Soft AC “Easy 94.1” KEZZ Phippsburg/100.5 K263AC Canyon Valley, Country “Big Country 96.9” KBCR-FM Steamboat Springs, Classic Rock “98.9 The River” KCOQ Steamboat Springs, “KTYV Sports” 105.7 KTYV/97.7 K249AW Steamboat Springs, Regional Mexican “Alma Mexicana” 1230 KKSB/99.5 K258DK Steamboat Springs as well as two stations in Craig: Classic Country “55 Country” KRAI/105.1 K286CV Craig and 102.3 K272DE Steamboat Springs and Classic Hits “93.7 The Point” KRAI-FM Craig.
The deal is structured with a $30,000 deposit, $270,000 at closing, and $1.7 million in a promissory note with 5% interest over 12 years.
Tlapek will retain 102.1 K272AF Eagle CO that rebroadcasts KNS Broadcasting’s 97.7 KZYR Avon CO.
