Westex Telco has moved Variety Hits “101.7 The Raider” KTJK Hawley TX to 106.3 KKHR Abilene.
The move places “106.3 The Raider” on a stronger signal as it moves the brand on the 50kW/46m Class C2 facility up from 101.7’s Class A.
The flip marks the fourth brand identity for 106.3 KKHR in under a year. When Westex Telco completed its purchase of the station last fall, it relaunched the Spanish CHR format from “Star 106.3” to “My 106.3“. The station then segued to Regional Mexican “La Grande 106.3” in April.
101.7 KTJK continues to simulcast KKHR for now. A new format should be debuting shortly.
