iHeartMedia has flipped Gospel “Hallelujah 96.3” 1490 WBGA/96.3 W242CJ Brunswick GA to Hip Hop “Real 96.3“.
The station will carry Premiere Networks’ The Breakfast Club in mornings and Way Up with Angela Yee in middays. Local host Kali Kold continues in afternoons, while KQBT Houston’s Ashlee Young will track nights.
WBGA had a 3.4 share in the Spring 2023 Nielsen Audio ratings. Two out-of-market iHeartMedia Hip Hop stations showed up in the market’s ratings. “94.1 The Beat” WQBT Savannah had a 3.4 share, while “93.3 The Beat” WJBT Jacksonville FL had a 1.1.
iHeartMedia Brunswick announced today the debut of the new Real 96.3, The Wick’s New #1 for Hip Hop ‘N R&B, effective immediately.
Real 96.3 will broadcast the latest Hip Hop and R&B including songs from artists including Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, and Drake. The station will also feature “The Breakfast Club,” with DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God. “The Breakfast Club” will hold down the mornings from 5:30am to 10am. “The Breakfast Club” is known for its interviews with celebrities, recording artists, and newsmakers. Its brutal honesty and humor make it the most-listened-to Hip Hop morning show in America. Middays will see “Way Up with Angela Yee,” taking over. Recently spun off from the Breakfast Club, ”Way Up” brings a fresh and uplifting lifestyle conversation to your day, along with a mix of great music. Following Angela Yee, Kali Kold will add local flavor to your afternoons. A local radio veteran, Kali is uniquely plugged into the Brunswick market and will be able to keep the community informed and entertained.
