Patrick Communications partners Larry Patrick and Greg Guy have dissolved the company with each launching their own brokerages.
Patrick, who founded the company in 1984, will form Patrick Media LLC. The former Chairman of ION Media, Chief Operating Officer of Gilmore Broadcasting, and as Senior Vice President of the NAB, also owns Legend Communications which operates over 20 stations in Wyoming under the names Big Horn Radio Network, Big Horn Mountain Radio, and Basin Radio Network.
Guy will spearhead Hilton Head Island SC based Tideline Partners LLC “specializing in providing strategic media brokerage and consulting services to radio and television broadcast companies”. Guy had been with Patrick Communications for 24 years serving as Director of Research and Marketing and later Vice President before becoming Managing Partner in 2007.
The duo say that the new companies will have “a dynamic relationship that allows them to work both separately and together as needed on specific projects.”
The dissolution of Patrick Communications follows fellow partner and Larry’s wife Susan Patrick pleading guilty in September to hiding $10 million in revenue earned by her company and falsifying her own tax returns to omit $9.5 million in income.
In a strategic move that underscores their commitment to innovation and client-centric solutions, Larry Patrick and Greg Guy have announced the formation of two new media brokerage firms with a dynamic relationship that allows them to work both separately and together as needed on specific projects. Media industry veteran Larry Patrick is proud to announce the establishment of Patrick Media LLC, a new media brokerage firm. With over five decades of experience in the media business, Larry Patrick brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this new venture.
Larry Patrick’s distinguished career in the media industry includes roles as a broadcaster, owner, and consultant. He has played a pivotal role in numerous media transactions, helping media companies thrive in an ever-changing landscape.
Larry holds a Ph.D. in communications and management as well as a J.D. degree. He has handled over $8.5 billion worth of media transactions in his career. He has also served as a Receiver or bankruptcy Trustee in more than 40 media cases, which is more than any other person in the U.S. He has also appeared as an expert witness in 36 federal and state court cases. Overall, he has held licenses or supervised over 100 radio and 75 television stations. He also served as Chairman of ION Media, Chief Operating Officer of Gilmore Broadcasting, and as Senior Vice President of the NAB. He has personally owned over 50 radio stations and has held a minority interest in 16 major market television stations.
