After a few days stunting with the online programming of Classic Alternative “The Coast“, 93.9 WGLD-FM Conway/Myrtle Beach SC and 106.3 WYAY Bolivia/Wilmington NC have flipped to Country “Carolina Country” as former owner Andrulonis Media regains control of the stations.
Andrulonis sold the two stations to Steve Clendenin’s Maryland Media One in 2021 for $500,000 and $400,000 respectively, which operated the duo as Oldies “Carolina Gold” until the end of 2023. The former format continues online-only. WYAY was filed to be sold back the Andrulonis last August for forgiveness of the $300,128.51 owned on the promissory note.
WGLD-FM/WYAY were previously “Carolina Country” from February 2017 until May 2021. The new iteration of the brand joins similarly formatted 1230 WFAY/100.1 W261CX Fayetteville NC. The new version adds Suite Radio’s “Rowdy Ride Home” with Rowdy Yates for afternoons.
