Desert Valley Media Group Hip Hop “Power 98.3/96.1” KKFR Mayer/K241BQ Ft. McDowell AZ has announced the addition of Nina Cruz to the station’s on-air lineup as Assistant Brand Manager and midday host.
Cruz had joined the company last July as Integrated Marketing Manager. After starting her career at then “Power 92” KKFR as an intern, she later held roles as APD/morning host at Classic Hip Hop “101.1 The Beat” KNRJ and MD/afternoon host at Rhythmic AC “Mega 104.3” KAJM in the market. Cruz also has hosted nights at KKUU Palm Springs and mornings at KHHM Sacramento.
She fills the midday opening created by Ashley Vikdal’s move to Audacy Sacramento/San Francisco earlier this month.
KKFR has also added local influencer Jennifer ‘Jay Alexaa’ Flores as afternoon co-host alongside Brand Manager Jonathan ‘J Steele’ to host “The Juice with J and Jay”.

Her success isn’t just measured in awards; her top-rated night show in Phoenix speaks volumes about her impact and influence in the local radio scene.
As a proud Arizona State University Sun Devil and avid supporter of hometown teams, particularly the Arizona Cardinals, Nina embodies the spirit of Phoenix sports culture. Her Sundays are often spent immersed in football, indulging in sports betting, fishing, and camping adventures with her husband. Nina Cruz’s show will take place Monday-Friday, 10a-3pm.
