Following the promotion of Sara McClure to Vice President of Unified Partnerships for California, iHeartMedia has named Steve Darnell as Metro President for Sacramento.

Darnell moves into the Sacramento position from Fresno where he most recently was Area President overseeing Bakersfield, Fresno, Modesto, Monterey, Riverside CA, and Spokane WA. He moved into that role in January 2020 after five years as SVP/Sales years and two as Market President Fresno. Prior to joining iHeartMedia, Darnell spent eleven years as General Manager of Buckley Broadcasting’s Bakersfield cluster.

Division President DJ Hodge stated, “After many years of successful leadership in our Pacific Area, it was clear early-on that Steve was the perfect candidate to lead our Sacramento Market as Metro President. Steve is the ideal choice to continue the great work done by Sara McClure, who is moving into our Unified Partnerships Division.”
