Rapper, hype-man, TV personality, mixer and longtime New York radio host Isaac ‘Fatman Scoop’ Freeman III passed away on Friday at the age of 53 after collapsing while performing in Hamden CT.
Scoop spent twelve years at Hip Hop “Hot 97” WQHT New York from 1995 until 2007 hosting overnights for a decade before moving to middays. He departed on his own to turn the MySpace and podcast sex/relationship advice show he hosted with his then-wife Shanda into a short-lived MTV show. He also co-hosted the syndicated mixshow “Full Throttle Radio” and recently began hosting a Saturday afternoon show for Audacy Classic Hip Hop “94.7 The Block” WXBK.
