KRGO LLC’s Silent 1550 KMRI West Valley City/Salt Lake City has returned to operation as Sports “SLC Sports Radio“.
The new brand is being led by veteran Sports talk host Dino Costa, who will host from 1-6pm. Sports ByLine USA network programming will air in other dayparts on the 10kW AM daytime-only signal. Costa, whose show usually mixes Sports Talk and Conservative Talk, had very brief tenures that ended in controversy at KXTG Portland and KFNS St. Louis. He also has hosted shows for SiriusXM, KLZ Denver and WNNR Jacksonville.
Sports Byline USA President Darren Peck said. “We’re thrilled to be bringing our lineup to Salt Lake City and joining forces with broadcast icon Dino Costa to bring great content to the fans there. The region’s appetite for sports is exploding and the timing of this launch couldn’t be better. Dino has been providing informative, entertaining and innovative sports talk for decades and we’ve been cheering for him all along the way. Our hosts include industry veterans and successful sports figures like Ron Barr, Brian Billick, Fred Dryer, Ron Cey, Rick Tittle, Marty Tirrell and more.
