The rapidly growing Bilingual AC format has come to Austin as Waterloo Media has flipped Spanish CHR “Latino 97.1” K246BD Austin/KLZT-HD2 Bastrop to the format.
The station has adopted the “Tus Favoritas de Siempre” positioning with a playlist that is focusing on a mix of English and Spanish songs from the 1980s through 2010s. The move comes just under two months after the company moved the brand from the 100kW 93.3 KGSR Cedar Park to the HD fed translator on August 30 to launch Rhythmic Throwbacks “Vibe 93.3“.
The new format launched on Thursday, October 24 at 10:00am with the following first hour:

- Los Enanitos Verdes – Lamento Boliviano
- A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera – Say Something

- Shakira – Ciega, Sordomuda
- Lewis Capaldi – Someone You Loved

- Fey – Azucar Amargo
The move will position KLZT-HD2 between Audacy AC “Majic 95.5” KKMJ which currently ranks third in the market with a 7.8 share and Univision Spanish AC “Amor 107.7” KLJA, which has just a 0.5 share.
