Former iHeartMedia Country 97.5 WCOS Columbia SC APD/afternoon host Andy Woods is joining Midlands Media Group Country “94.3 The Dude” WUDE Forest Acres/Columbia as Brand Manager and afternoon host.
Woods spent nineteen years at WCOS from 2005 until exiting in last August’s iHeartMedia layoffs. Woods commented, “I got to Columbia in 2005 and did afternoon drive for 19 years in addition to music and programming responsibilities. People in the radio business are known for packing up their stuff and moving from city to city – but Columbia is different. It’s home for me, it’s where my heart is. The best part? I get to stay in the city I love and join The Dude!”.
CEO Keith Stover commented, “Andy has been an ambassador for country music in the Midlands for quite some time. We are thrilled to have him bring his love for the format and the city to the ‘Dude’ brand of country.”
Woods will debut in afternoons from 2-6pm starting on Friday, February 14.
