After stunting all weekend, Rich Broadcasting flipped Hot AC “Star 98” 98.1 KGTM Shelley/Idaho Falls and 98.5 KLLP Blackfoot/Pocatello to Classic Hits at 12pm today.
The station retains its “Star 98” identity and is now positioning as “Best of the 80s, 90s and more”. As previously noted, the station has dropped Premiere Networks’ Johnjay & Rich and will move Iliad Media Group’s “Rick & Carly” show based at “96.1 Bob-FM” KSRV Boise from afternoons to mornings. Midday host Phoenix Cannon moves to 1-6pm.
Original Report 5/3: Rich Broadcasting has dropped its Hot AC format on “Star 98” 98.1 KGTM Shelley/Idaho Falls and 98.5 KLLP Blackfoot/Pocatello and is currently stunting ahead of a new format launch on Monday, May 5 at 12pm.
The station is currently running a loop with snippets of songs with many including “Star” in the name, along with patriotic songs, songs about changes, some out of format songs, and vintage television show clips and commercials. With the changes, the station has dropped Premiere Networks’ Johnjay & Rich and will move Iliad Media Group’s “Rick & Carly” show based at “96.1 Bob-FM” KSRV Boise from afternoons to mornings.
Rich Broadcasting also owns News/Talk “KID News Radio” 92.1 KIDG/106.3 KIDJ, Classic Rock “The Pick” 94.9 KPKY/104.5 KZKY, and Country “The Wolf” 96.1 KWFI-FM/102.1 KWFO-FM serving both the Pocatello and Idaho Falls markets.
