Durham Radio has completed its acquisition of three Ontario stations from Bell Media as part of the latter company’s divestment of many of its smaller market stations leading to a pair of rebrands and one stunt.
In Lindsay ON, Classic Hits “Bounce 91.9” CKLY-FM has become “Y91.9“. Now positioning as “The Greatest Hits of All Time”, the move comes with the return of Dave Illman to the station as afternoon host. Vanessa Murphy remains in mornings and Matt Holtby in middays.
Over in Peterborough, “Pure Country 105” CKQM-FM has revamped as “KX 105” CKXP-FM taking on the “KX” branding utilized by Durham’s Country stations in Hamilton and Oshawa. The station will retain the “Jeff & Miles” morning show and afternoon host Coleton MacDonals. Oshawa’s Brian Floyd will also be heard on CKXP-FM, while Matty Buller is added for nights replacing Bell’s national midday show hosted by Shannon Ella and The Bobby Bones Show respectively.
AC “Move 99.7” CKPT-FM Peterborough is currently in stunt mode with a broader version of its format directing listeners to a website LetsShakeItUp.ca that is taking song requests.
