After acquiring Conservative Talk “Talk 1270” WHLD Niagara Falls/Buffalo for $150,000 in May and flipping it to a temporary simulcast of Oldies “Big WECK” WECK Cheektowaga, Buddy Shula’s Radio One Buffalo will relaunch the station as Conservative Talk “1270 The Patriot” under its new WUSW call letters on Friday, July 4.
The station will feature syndicated talkers including Premiere Networks’ Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, and Clay Travis and Buck Sexton plus additional daily and weekend shows including Bill O’Reilly, Erik Erickson, Lars Larson, Ted Cruz, Jesse Kelly, Chris Plante, Michael DelGiorno, Vince Coglianese, Tony Katz and Ben Ferguson. It will also have local shows from local politicians including New York State Assemblyman David DiPietro.
Shula said, “I am thrilled to be debuting a local talk station that deals with real issues. I feel the conservative talk lane is open, and that will give listeners a choice of the type of talk that they really want to hear. The Patriot will cater to Republican and Conservative listeners of all ages, both locally and nationally, led by the Sean Hannity Radio Show Monday-Friday from 3pm-6pm.”
He also said he tried to affiliate with Fox News Radio, but was denied. Instead the station will carry Salem Media Group’s Town Hall News and Bloomberg and CNBC business reports.
