Bustos Media will begin operating AC “Mixx 96.1” KXXO Olympia/Tacoma WA on Monday, October 27 with a flip to Spanish AC “X96.1“.
Bustos Media is in the process of acquiring KXXO from David Rauh and Toni Holm’s 3 Cities Inc. for $1.5 million.
KXXO, a Class C with 37kW/717m, serves the southern Puget Sound area including Tacoma and rimshots portions of Seattle. It will be Bustos Media’s fifth station in the market joining Regional Mexican “La Gran D” 99.3 KDDS-FM Elma, “La Zeta” 102.9 KZTM McKenna and 103.3 KZNW Oak Harbor, and Brokered Spanish Christian “Amor 1210” KMIA Auburn-Federal Way.
Bustos Media President/CEO Amador Bustos said, “This is the first time we are introducing a Latin-Pop format with some bilingual elements. Given the diversity of its Hispanic population, Seattle is the perfect metropolitan area to do a format with a wider contemporary sound. It includes music primarily from Mexico, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Argentina, and Spain. Many of the Latin artists are also doing amazing collaborations with their US counterparts with Urban, Pop, and country sounds.”
