While the approval and closing of the $4 million sale of 93.3 WLDB and 102.1 WLUM Milwaukee to K-Love Inc. is being held up by the government shutdown, K-Love Inc. has begun operating its pending new acquisitions.
Update 10/30: WLDB began airing the Christian AC “K-Love” network just before noon today. The network will be relocating to the Class B signal from the weaker Class A 105.3 WLVE Mukwanago.
WLDB had been running promos redirecting its former audience to iHeartMedia’s new “B97.3” WRNW after iHeart acquired the station’s intellectual property. All of WLDB’s social media properties are in the process of being transferred over to iHeart’s brand.
The station cut out of Maroon 5’s “Love Somebody” around 11:50am switching over to the K-Love network feed.
Original Report 10/29: 102.1 WLUM dropped its “FM 102.1” Alternative format around 7:10pm on Tuesday evening and began airing the Contemporary Worship “Air 1” network. 93.3 WLDB continues with the ghost of its AC “B93.3” format, despite iHeartMedia’s claiming of the brand for “B97.3” WRNW.
