Domain Insight 12/3: Big Changes Coming To Radio One Charlotte?

[membership level="2,3"] Is Radio One preparing changes at four of its Charlotte NC stations? Call letter filings and domain registrations indicate so. Based on call letter change filings set to take effect on Thursday, December 11, Radio One will begin the changes by moving the FM simulcast of News/Talk 1110 WBT Charlotte from suburban 99.3 WBT-FM Chester SC to the 100kW Class C signal currently home to Hot AC " Mix 107.9 " WLNK. 107.9 was originally WBT-FM from 1962 to 1978. The Hot AC format and WLNK-FM calls would then move from 107.9 to what is now Gospel " Praise 100.9 " WPZS Indian Trail NC with a simulcast added on 99.3 under new WMXG call letters. The move would place the Hot AC brand on a pair of Class A rimshot signals. Radio One also registered new MixCharlotte.com and MyMixCharlotte.com domains. The WPZS calls would move to what is now 610 WFNZ Charlotte. WFNZ currently simulcasts Hip Hop " 102.5 The Block " W273DA Charlotte/105.3 WOSF-HD2 Gaffney. WBT/WBT-FM dropped in the October PPM ratings from a 3.3 to 2.6 share. " Mix 107.9 " registered a 3.3 share. " Praise 100.9 " had a 1.7 share. [/membership]
