Baltimore Public Media has appointed Maxie Jackson as its new Program Director of Public News/Talk 88.1 WYPR Baltimore and 89.7 WTMD Towson MD.
Jackson most recently served as Executive Director of AAA WYMS Milwaukee from 2022 until January 2025. He has also held roles across public media including Chief Content Officer for New England Public Media, Executive Director of the Pacifica Foundation, Station Manager for WCPN Cleveland, President & CEO of the National Federation of Community Broadcasters,
Senior Director Program Development for New York Public Radio, Program Director of WETA-FM Washington DC and General Manager of WEAA Baltimore. Jackson was also Assistant Director of Programming for Radio One’s channels on SiriusXM and a producer at BET.

Jackson succeeds Jonathan Blakely, who departed the group last month.
