After one month of simulcasting, Radio One News/Talk 107.9 WBT-FM Charlotte is no longer being heard on 1110 WBT.

1110 is currently running an instrumental music bed and pointing its listeners to 107.9. Radio One has yet to announce its plans for 1110 or when new programming will debut.

Original Report 12/9: When Radio One News/Talk 1110 WBT Charlotte told listeners of the upcoming frequency shuffle that will move its programming on FM to 107.9 starting Thursday, December 11, it also noted that the programming will depart its current home on AM.

WBT will simulcast on 1110 and 107.9 through the end of the year. It will introduce new programming in early January.

Program Director Mike Schaefer said, “We are currently sitting in the Ty Boyd studio at WBT. That history is something that is near and dear to all of us. Myself included, (VP/GM) Marsha included, all of you and everyone here listening. That brand, WBT will continue. We will be the stewards of that history at 107.9 FM. Not going away. Not going to be forgotten and will be talked about for the next hundred years which is why we are making this move. In regards to WBT AM 1110, we will continue as a company Radio One and Urban One will continue to proudly own and operate AM 1110 WBT. There’s no question about that and please stay tuned for announcements coming on what that programming will be.”
