Fort Myers Broadcasting Company continues to make changes at its recently acquired stations from Beasley Media Group in Southwest Florida.
Sports “ESPN Southwest Florida” 770 WBCN North Fort Myers and 98.1 W251AL Fort Myers have signed off. The station’s other translators were running a redirect loop over the weekend pointing listeners to Sun Broadcasting’s “Fox Sports FM” 94.1 W231DC Fort Myers, 103.3 W277AP Bayshore, 105.9 W290DB Naples and 92.5 WFSX-HD2 Estero.
No word yet on what is next for WBCN’s translators 96.5 W243BM Suncoast Estates, 101.5 W268AH Bonita Springs, 104.3 W282BY Fort Myers, and 105.1 W286AK Naples. WBCN and its translators served as the local play-by-play home for the ECHL’s Florida Everblades, MLB’s Tampa Bay Rays, NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and University of Florida. The stations featured a local afternoon show hosted by Craig Shemon.
After stunting with a one-hour loop of music redirecting listeners to Spanish Tropical “Maxima 97.3/95.7” W247CR/W239CL/WINK-HD2, the former “Playa 99.3” WWCN-FM Fort Myers Beach has flipped to Christian AC “Positively 99“.
WWCN-FM joins a crowded Christian AC marketplace that includes “K-Love” 88.7 WDLV and “Way-FM” 89.5 WAYJ/100.5 W263BI,
