Doug Gottlieb is stepping down as afternoon host at Premiere Networks’ Fox Sports Radio to focus on his job as head coach of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay basketball team.
Gottlieb has hosted the 3-6pm Eastern/12-3pm Pacific time show since April 2017 after previously hosting the same daypart for CBS Sports Radio. The former Notre Dame and Oklahoma State basketball player has also hosted middays at WWLS Oklahoma City and nights on ESPN Radio. He took on the position as head coach at UWGB in May 2024. The team went just 4-28 in his first season and is 6-7 so far this year.
In a postgame press conference on Wednesday, Gottlieb said, “These kids owe a fully dedicated coach. You only get one shot at this thing. If there’s any ounce of fatigue, or lack of preparation… I gotta be here for these kids.” Gottlieb will continue to podcast in some form.”
