Longtime Wichita KS programmer and host Greg ‘Hitman’ Williams passed away after a battle with Stage 4 metastatic cholangiocarcinoma.

Williams began his career at KLEO Wichita and spent time at KCBQ-FM San Diego before joining CHR 107.3 KKRD Wichita in 1983. He would spend 17 years at KKRD before moving to Rhythmic CHR “Power 93.5” KDGS as Program Director and morning host in 2000. Williams would remain at KDGS for 25 years remaining until exiting in Audacy’s round of cuts last March. For the past two years of his run at KDGS, Williams also served as Brand Manager for Classic Hits 103.7 KEYN.
An Audacy spokesperson told KWCH-TV, “We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Greg “The Hitman” Williams. For more than four decades, Greg was a true Wichita legend, who connected with listeners through his energy, authenticity and genuine love of radio. He had a rare ability to make every broadcast feel personal, and his impact extended throughout our community. We send our heartfelt condolences to Greg’s family, friends and former colleagues during this incredibly difficult time.”
