Hal Ginsburg will be shifting the programming of 540 KRXA Carmel Valley/Monterey, CA to the internet following the sale of the AM facility.
The Liberal Talk format that has been heard on KRXA since July 2005 will live on at RadioMonterey.com. Ginsburg, who also hosts the station’s morning show, sold KRXA to El Sembrador Ministries for $300,000. El Sembrador will shift the station to a non-commercial Spanish Christian format simulcasting “Radio Catolica” 1670 KHPY Moreno Valley/Riverside, CA when they close on the sale.
Ginsburg, who has been splitting his time between the station and his family in Maryland, told the Monterey County Herald, “My original plan was to be an owner-investor, not a station manager. But I found that I wasn’t comfortable with somebody else running the business — I never found the right person — so I decided I needed to take over.” He will continue to host his morning show from his Maryland studio.
