We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Senior News Reporter/Anchor to join our team. WE WOULD PREFER IN PERSON. The right ROCK STAR could do this position REMOTELY.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in journalism and a keen ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

This role involves researching, writing, and reporting on various news stories as well as anchoring. The Senior News Reporter will also be responsible for leading the news department to reaching the daily goal/fulfilling the daily and weekly editorial plan set by the News Director.

Responsibilities

Research to find best interview candidates for news stories, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
Write clear, engaging articles that adhere to journalistic standards and style guidelines.
Conduct interviews with sources to gather information and quotes for stories.
Write a minimum of 5 – 6 stories per day
Write compelling questions for interviews and stories from these interviews.
Attend meetings to gather audio for current and future stories.
Edit and proofread content before publication to ensure clarity and correctness..
Collaborate with director and other reporters to develop comprehensive coverage of events.
Stay informed about local events that could be news-worthy
Anchor news casts as assigned by the News Director

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field preferred.
Minimum 3 – 5 years proven experience in writing, editing, and reporting within a newsroom environment.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
Experience with writing and anchoring news (TV/Video News Reporting could be included)
