Original Report 11/14: Erie Radio Company is about to launch 92.7 WEHP Lawrence Park/Erie PA.
The new frequency began testing on Friday with songs featuring “Happy” in the title according to PressandTower.com. After filing for its license to operate on Tuesday, the station should be debuting its permanent programming any day now.
When the station debuts that programming it will do so as CHR “Happi Radio 92.7“. A blank Twitter account for that name is live. Happi927.com was registered back in May 2011 for the station by the same person who registered ErieRadioCompany.com.
Rick Rambaldo, the principal behind the Erie Radio Company, previously owned the current Connoisseur Media cluster in Erie prior to selling it to NextMedia in 1999. He stayed on as GM of the stations until the sale to Connoisseur in 2006. The 92.7 allocation was acquired as part of the FCC Auction 91 in May 2011.

Star 104, i104.3, and now Happi Radio 92.7… Unless Happi has some kind of musical lean that’s different than the others, is it really necessary to have 3 CHR’s in Erie PA, playing the EXACT same repetitive $#!+? Can’t wait to hear what Happi is all about 🙁
