G.I. Family Radio will flip Rock “Thunder 97.7” KMTY Gibbon/Grand Island NE to a Sports/Rock hybrid on Monday, March 16.

KMTY will relaunch as “97.7 The Zone” carrying the Omaha based Sports programming from soon-to-be Usher Media Group’s “1620 The Zone” KOZN Omaha. The Zone will carry KOZN’s “Happer & Schaefer” hosted by Conner Happer and Mike Schaefer from 6-10am, Matt McMaster in middays from 10am to 2pm, and “Unsportsmanlike Conduct” with “John Bishop and Josh Peterson” from 2-6pm.

The station will continue to feature Rock music at night. Alan Usher said, “Sports fans in Central Nebraska are incredibly passionate.
