Univision continues its rapid refreshing of its properties across the country.
Spanish AC “Pasion 106.7” WPPN Des Plaines/Chicago has rebranded as “Amor 106.7“. No major shifts to the programming or music accompanied the name change, which brings the station inline with its sister station in Miami.
WPPN registered a 1.9 share in the February 2014 PPM rankings, high enough to make it the second most listened to Spanish language station in the market behind sister Regional Mexican “La Que Buena 105.1” WOJO.

The only problem with WPPN 106.7 is the signal. It doesn’t serve the southern half of the metropolitan area well. It is static within the loop. I wonder if Univision can get a waiver request to move the transmitter from Des Plaines into Willis or John Hancock Tower.
