Update 5/5: Forget about 94.5 or 105.5 flipping to CHR as Cumulus made the move with 100.7 today at 10:07am as “100.7 The Vibe“. The new format is designed to take a few audience shares away from Clear Channel’s “92.5 Kiss-FM” WVKS.

Original Report 5/3: Cumulus Alternative “100.7 The Zone” W264AK/WXKR-HD2 Toledo has shifted the format to 94.5 WXKR-HD3 and has begun stunting with what is being described as a wide mix of music and promoting a new format to debut Thursday, May 5.

The Zone had previously existed on 106.5 WRWK from 2001 until June 2009 before that station flipped to a simulcast of sister Sports “1470 The Ticket” WLQR before being resuscitated on the HD2/Translator combo in early 2010.

Cumulus may not be done in Toledo either. A number of domains registered in April hint at the possibility of one of their stations flipping to CHR. i1055.com, i1055Hits.com, i1055Toledo.com, i105Toledo.com, i945Hits.com, and i945Toledo.com could lead to a flip at Classic Rock 94.5 WXKR or Hot AC “Star 105.5” WWWM. Cumulus also owns Classic Hits 93.5 WRQN, AC “My 98.3” WMIM and Country “K100” WKKO in Toledo.
