The demise of CHR “104.3 Hit-FM” XHTO-FM Juarez MX/El Paso TX on March 2 led to the birth of “Mix 92.7” on 97.5 Licensee TX’s 750 KAMA and Big Bend Broadcasting’s 92.7 K224FC El Paso.
Moving from 104.3 to 92.7 is “The Morning Mash” with Johnny Kage, DJ Javi, and Romi from 6-10am. The move was necessitated by the cessation of ties between 97.5 Licensee TX and Grupo Audiorama brought upon by the FCC opening a license revocation proceeding against 97.5 Licensee TX for a supposed unauthorized transfer of control from Luz Maria Rygaard to her cousin Lorena Margarita Peréz Toscano and misrepresentations and/or lack of candor in dealing with the commission. Regional Mexican “Ke Buena 97.5” KBNA-FM, 750 KAMA and Silent 920 KQBU El Paso were under a programming agreement with Toscano’s Pro Radio LLC to share services with Grupo Audiorama that was cancelled following the FCC’s inquiry.
97.5 Licensee TX told the FCC in February that it had ended its association with Pro Radio LLC and attempts to transfer the license to her. It also waived their right to a hearing and instead submitted a document and proposing a consent decree with a civil penalty and compliance plan to settle the inquiry.
With the move of the CHR format and morning show, Grupo Radio Centro is keeping the “Hit FM” brand alive as a webcaster.
Original Report 3/6: Grupo Radio Centro CHR “104.3 Hit-FM” XHTO-FM Juarez MX/El Paso TX will move to 92.7 on Monday, March 2.
The move will place the station on the 99w/303m 92.7 K224FC, which is currently Spanish Christian fed by 1340 KVIV.
XHTO-FM had a 4.6 share in the December 2025 Nielsen Audio ratings.
