Deletions
New England Broadcasting Educational Group Inc’s requested the dismissal of its License to Cover and deletion of its license for 88.3 WVCA Newbury MA following an Informal Objection by Word Radio Educational Foundation’s 88.7 WSEW Sanford ME. WSEW claimed that WVCA failed to fulfill all the conditions of its underlying construction permit and construct authorized facilities.
WVCA stated in its license to cover application that it constructed the facility with temporary facilities of 100w/10m installed in a tree as opposed to the CP’s 300w/32m on a pole on top of a building. They contended that the FCC had granted them a 60 day extension to build their permanent facility, while WSEW also noted that it had failed to obtain an antenna proof-of-performance as stipulated bu their CP’s Special Operating Condition #2. Rather than argue their false ascertations in the license to cover application, WVCA will not exist.
FCC Actions
WIN Radio Broadcasting’s License to Cover grant for 94.3 W232DE Potomac MD has been rescinded following a Petition to Deny by Historic Takoma’s 94.3 WOWD-LP Takoma Park MD. In WOWD-LP’s petition they note that W232DE’s (formerly 99.3 W257BW New Tripoli PA) license should have expired and been deleted on September 8, 2018 after a year of silence and unauthorized operation. WOWD-LP successfully fought the translator’s license to cover grant in 2017 due to interference it caused to the LPFM.
Hispanic Family Christian Network’s License to Cover grant for 92.9 K225CM Dallas TX also was rescinded following an Informal Objection by Salem Media. Salem claims the HFCN did not build out K225CM and instead claimed that the antenna for the previously licensed 106.5 K293CM Dallas was for that translator. Salem through licensee Bison Media states that it has raised questions about K225CM on three previous occasions while Hispanic Family Christian Network has filed objections against Salem’s own application for a translator on 92.9 in Dallas to rebroadcast Conservative Talk “660 The Answer” KSKY Balch Springs. Salem has operated one on 92.9 via STA since 2008 due to interference from a Mexican station.
