Zimmer Midwest completed its revamp of its new Springfield MO cluster on Wednesday with the flip of Red Dirt Country “101.3 The Outlaw” KWTO-FM (formerly KTXR) to Classic Country “Real Country 101.3“.
The new format is focusing on Country hits of the 80s and 90s. The move places it closer competitively with Mid-West Family Broadcasting’s “105.1 The Bull” KOMG and Branson area rimshot “Legends 106.3” KRZK.
The launch completes the programming shuffle that has taken place since Zimmer began operating the former Meyer cluster this summer. The Sports “Jock” format moved from 98.7 to 1060 KBFL/96.9 K245CA Springfield and 99.9 KBFL-FM Buffalo MO replacing Adult Standards at the end of July. That was followed by the launch of Soft AC “98.7 The Dove” in mid-August.
The former “Outlaw” brand, which launched in the market on 99.9 in March 2015 before moving to 101.3 the following October, will continue online.
