College of DuPage Jazz 90.9 WDCB Glen Ellyn/Chicago IL has announced the addition of Scott Childers as Operations Coordinator.

Childers joins WDCB from Cumulus Conservative Talk 890 WLS where he spent most of the past year as a news anchor, reporter and fill-in host. That came after a 20 year run at Alpha Media’s suburban Chicago cluster from 2004 until last February where he held multiple programming, on-air, and engineering positions including Program Director for Hot AC “Star 96.7” WSSR Joliet from 2008 to 2019 and Chief Engineer. Childers also hosted middays at AC 100.3 WPNT/WNND Chicago from 1996-2003, and held on-air roles at 101.9 WTMX and 103.5 WWBZ Chicago. He also maintains the WLS History website and has authored a book about the station.

Childers stated, “I’m excited to share that I’ve accepted the role of Operations Coordinator at 90.9 WDCB, Chicago’s Home for Jazz! Many thanks to Program Director Dan Bindert, who I’ll be working with closely, and a special shoutout to Chicago radio and media legends Rick O’Dell and Robert Feder for their support. Looking forward to a fantastic journey at this legendary jazz station, home to an incredibly talented and dedicated staff—many of whom are musicians! Plus, I’m thrilled to be part of a station that hosts Steve Darnall and the iconic Those Were The Days, celebrating its 55th anniversary this year.”
