Cox Media Group Adult R&B “Hot 106.5” WHJX Ponte Vedra Beach/Jacksonville FL is making a morning show change as it debuts Compass Media Networks’ DeDe In The Morning on Monday, January 12.
Hosted by DeDe McGuire, the show has aired in Jacksonville on Cox Hip Hop “Power 106.1” W291CI/WJGL-HD2 since June 2022. It will now air on both stations simultaneously. Cox Director of Urban Content and WHJX/W291CI Program Director Elroy Smith said, “Airing the same morning show on two urban frequencies is unprecedented in Jacksonville. Power 106.1 continues to serve hip-hop listeners, while Hot 106.5 introduces the show to an R&B audience.”
McGuire commented, “Jacksonville has consistently supported DeDe In The Morning, and I’m excited to officially join the Hot 106.5 family. Being heard on two stations in the market allows us to connect with even more listeners each morning.”
