Stayton Communications flipped Southern Gospel “1030 The Light” Blue Springs/Kansas City MO to Classic Country “Real Country 1030” earlier this month.
Utilizing Westwood One’s Classic Country network, the station is also expanding its local sports programming. KCWJ will air a high school game of the week featuring Blue Springs and Blue Springs South sports, some local sports specialty shows and St. Louis Blues hockey. The Eastern Jackson County Examiner reports Tony Wrisinger has joined KCWJ as PD/Sales Manager.
KCWJ previously aired Classic Country in the late 1990’s as KOWW under CBS ownership.
