Alpha Media has dropped the Soft AC “Easy Rock 105.1” format on WESI Shepherdsville/Louisville and flipped the station to Classic Hits.
The station is now branded as “105.1 GHL” with new WGHL call letters pending. WGHL is launching with the usual 10,000 songs-in-a-row commercial free. It joins Summit Media’s Rock leaning Classic Hits “107.7 The Eagle” WSFR and W&B Broadcasting’s rimshot 103.5 WAKY in the format.
In the Summer 2014 Nielsen Audio ratings, “Easy Rock 105.1” was the lowest rated FM station in the Louisville market with just a 1.6 share of the audience.

So far, they sound about 90% like their old self… and to be perfectly honest, I was listening for about an hour earlier this morning and wasn’t paying attention to the bumpers, and had no clue a format change even occurred until a bit later.
