Ramar Communications and Barton Broadcasting are exchanging station licenses in Lubbock, TX.
Ramar will receive the license for what is now Tejano “Power 106.5” KEJS Lubbock, while Barton gains what is now Sports “Double T 104.3” KTTU-FM Brownfield. Both companies will retain the call letters and intellectual property of their respective stations. Once the sale closes on the later of December 4 or the fifth day following FCC approval, KTTU-FM will reside on 106.5 and KEJS on 104.3.
Both stations are Class C2’s. 104.3 KTTU-FM operates with 50kW at 145 meters from a location 20 miles southwest of Lubbock (Coverage Map), while 106.5 KEJS runs 34kW at 179 meters from a tower shared with many other television and radio stations including eleven of Ramar’s other properties in the Lubbock market (Coverage Map).
Barton Broadcasting has no other broadcast assets, while Ramar owns one AM, four FMs, four translators, one full-power TV, two Class A TV, one LPTV, and leases an additional full-power TV in the Lubbock market.
