FCC Report 11/15: KXFM Seeks Shift To Santa Barbara

FM Changes

99.1 KXFM Real Rock Santa Maria Barbara Oxnard Ventura El Dorado BroadcastersEl Dorado Broadcasters is seeking to move Rock 99.1 KXFM Santa Maria CA to Montecito where it would be placed in the Santa Barbara market, but also place coverage over the Oxnard/Ventura market. The station’s application proposes placing KXFM on an existing tower on Rincon Peak where it would downgrade from a Class B to B1 with 1.3kW at 427 meters (Coverage Map). El Dorado owns no other stations in either Oxnard/Ventura or Santa Barbara, but will continue to own 1 AM and 2 FM in the Lompoc/Santa Maria market following the move of KXFM.

Further up the California coast, Hooten Broadcasting AAA “92.7 The Skunk” KUNK Mendocino has reapplied to move to 101.9. KUNK will make the move by transferring to a tower site just outside Fort Bragg with 3kW at 132 meters (Coverage Map).

After its previous CP expired in October, Adams Radio Country “K107.7” WKHI Fruitland MD has reapplied to upgrade the station from Class A to B1 with 23kW at 104.8 meters from its current tower site (Coverage Map).

All Classical Public Media’s 88.9 KQMI Manzanita OR seeks a shift to a new tower site with 90 watts at 326 meters (Coverage Map).

With its CP to launch set to expire next week, Eastern Oklahoma State College’s 104.9 KIBE Broken Bow OK proposes a move to a lesser facility with 700 watts vertical at 54 meters (Coverage Map).

Stephen J Brown’s CP for 97.7 in Roby TX applies for a modification to shift to 105.9 with no changes to its 6kW at 99 meters facilities (Coverage Map).

AM Changes

DuPage Radio daytimer 1530 WCKG Elmhurst IL applies to increase its power from 760 watts to 4kW from its current two tower array just to the west of Chicago.

Deletions

Newsweb has turned in the license for 1470 WCFJ Chicago Heights IL. The 1kW AM had been one of Newsweb’s eight stations in the Chicago area, with most airing brokered programming. Newsweb President Charley Gross told Robert Feder that the station was not profitable.

Translator Moves

Juan Alberto Ayala applies to move his 98.3 W252AW Chicago to the tower of SBS’ 107.9 WLEY-FM Aurora with 250 watts vertical at 214 meters rebroadcasting Moody Bible Institute’s 90.1 WMBI-FM Chicago (Coverage Map106.1 WBLI Patchouge (Coverage Map).

GM Broadcasting’s 102.5 W273AB Owego NY applies to shift to Vestal with 100 watts at 68 meters which will add 60dBu coverage over Binghamton. W273AB will continue to rebroadcast sister Hot AC “Magic 101.7” WLTB Johnson City.

In addition to acquiring 96.3 W242CC Bethany NC from iHeartMedia, Delmarva Educational Association applies to shift the translator to a tower located on the property of co-owned Truth Broadcasting where it will operate with 250 watts at 74 meters rebroadcasting Truth’s Conservative Talk “980 The Eagle” WEGO Winston-Salem (Coverage Map).

CTC Media Group’s 107.5 W298BX New Bern NC applies for a Mattoon Waiver to move to Winterville with 250 watts at 150 meters rebroadcasting Sports “ESPN 1570” WECU Winterville/Greenville (Coverage Map).

Positive Alternative Radio applies to modify two of their Harrisonburg VA translators. 92.7 W224CH seeks to shift to 103.3 with 10 watts at 547 meters rebroadcasting 89.9 WPER Culpeper (Coverage Map). 107.5 W298BR applies to drop from 10 to 5 watts at 547 meters rebroadcasting 90.1 WPVA Waynesboro (Coverage Map).

Aruba Capital Holdings applies for a Mattoon Waiver to move 97.1 W246BP Sanford ME to Exeter NH with 200 watts at 93 meters rebroadcasting Classic Rock 1540 WXEX Exeter (Coverage Map).

Town of Monroe, Connecticut’s 91.9 W220CE Middletown CT proposes to increase power from 6 to 10 watts from its current 165 meter antenna rebroadcasting Classical 91.5 WGRS Guilford (Coverage Map).

Georgia-Carolina Radiocasting’s 105.3 W287CM Elberton GA modifies its displacement application to move to 93.1 instead of 93.3. W287CM will rebroadcast 96.7 WVGC Tignall with 200 watts at 87 meters (Coverage Map).

Edgewater Broadcasting applies to move 88.1 W201DB McRae GA to 98.9 with 19 watts at 96 meters rebroadcasting American Family Association’s 89.3 WBJY Americus (Coverage Map).
