As Clear Channel prepares to move Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity from Cumulus’ 770 WABC to their 710 WOR New York in January, it’s looking like a full rebranding of the station will accompany the new lineup.
Clear Channel has registered NewYork710.com, NewYork710AM.com, NY710.com, and NY710AM.com for WOR with all domains already redirecting to the station’s existing site. The addition of Limbaugh and Hannity will see six hours of WABC’s daytime lineup move down to WOR as both Talk stations seek to revamp and grow their audiences. In the August 2013 PPM ratings WOR registered a 1.2 share, well behind WABC’s 2.7.
WOR is also rumored to be in the running to become the new flagship for New York Mets baseball in 2014.
