Starboard Media Foundation is acquiring multiple stations in Fort Myers FL. Starboard will acquire Classic Country “Twang 106.7” 1410 WMYR Fort Myers and 106.7 W294AN Fort Myers Beach from Mark Follett’s Gulf Breeze Radio License LLC for $546,733.82. The Catholic operator will also purchase AC “98FM Marco Island” 1480 WVOI and Spanish CHR “Ardiente Radio” 1660 WCNZ Marco Island from Almodovar Media Corporation for the assumption of the $356,266.18 owed on the promissory note by Almodovar to previous owner J&B WCNZ/WVOI LLC. Starboard will begin operating WMYR/W294AN and WCNZ via LMA on Monday, August 1 with their “Relevant Radio” Catholic programming.
It’s very rare to see Educational Media Foundation sell off a full-powered signal like they did this week in Waco TX where 98.3 KYAR Lorena goes to Red-C Apostolate for $495,000. KYAR will become the second station of “Red-C Catholic Radio” joining 88.5 KEDC Hearne/Bryan TX. EMF purchased the former 98.3 KASZ from Clear Channel in 2003. The “Air 1” network will continue to be heard in Waco on EMF’s 89.9 KWAA Mart TX.
John Dille III is purchasing the 51% of Partnership Radio Urban AC “Mix 106.3” WUBU South Bend IN he did not own from Focus Radio for $336,500. Dille is the President of Federated Media which owns three other FMs in the South Bend market as well as serving on the board of Hubbard Broadcasting.
After shutting down student-run 90.1 KFKX Hastings NE, Hastings College is selling the station’s license to Bott Radio’s Community Broadcasting for $37,500.
Northeast Broadcasting sells Business “Bloomberg 1070” WTWK and 96.3 W242BS Plattsburgh NY to Aaron and Jessica Ishmael’s A&J Radio for $140,000. Aaron Ishmael is also involved in the LMA of recently launched Classic Country “97.9 The Moose” WZXP Au Sable NY from Randy Michaels’ Radioactive LLC.
Thomas Hodgins’ Radio Station KMJY Inc. acquires 1330 KMBI Spokane WA from Moody Bible Institute for $100,000. Hodgins owns Classic Country “104.5 Hank-FM” KNHK-FM Newport in the Spokane market.
Richard Linn is adding a second station on the Oregon Coast with the purchase of 97.5 KRLZ Lincoln Beach from Edgar Eaton for $125,000 with an LMA before closing. Linn owns Country 93.7 KSHL Waldport.
Alan Bishop’s Upstate Media Group, which is in the process of purchasing George Kimble’s Finger Lakes Radio Group, is now adding Russel Kimble’s Country “K101.7” WFLK Geneva NY for $400,000. Finger Lakes Radio Group, which Bishop served as General Manager, has operated WFLK via Time Brokerage Agreement since 2010.
Bert Lindsay sells Classic Hits “1490 V-Radio” WSVM Valdese NC to Vance Patterson for $9,000.
Support Christian Broadcasting sells Silent 1050 KORE Springfield-Eugene OR to Stephan Woodward’s KORE Broadcasting for $1, while paying Larry Knight $20,000 for the equipment utilized by the station. Woodward is also purchasing 99.9 K260CN Klamath Junction OR to move to Eugene for use with KORE for $25,500.
